Five seminarians ordained May 20th for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati

xxxxxFive men were ordained priests for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati by Archbishop Daniel E. Pilarczyk at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains on May 20.
xxxxxThe men have earned Masters of Divinity degrees from the Athenaeum of Ohio/Mount St. Mary's Seminary of the West in Mount Washington. All of the new priests will serve the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

xxxxxFather Christopher C. Coleman , 38, is the son of Barbara Cooper Coleman of London, Ohio, and the late Paul J. Coleman. His home parish is St. Simon the Apostle, Cincinnati. Father Coleman holds a master of business administration degree from Xavier University and a bachelor's degree in paper science and engineering from Miami University in Oxford. Prior to entering the seminary, he was an account manager for Hercules Co. in Cincinnati and was music director at St. Simon.
xxxxxFather Coleman has a sister, Dr. Paula Coleman Black of Tipp City. His first Mass of Thanksgiving was May 21 at St. John the Baptist in Tipp City - a celebration that included the first Communion of his niece and the 12th wedding anniversary of his sister. Father Coleman also will celebrate the weekend Masses at St. Simon on May 27 and 28 in thanksgiving for ordination and for 14 years of service to the parish as music director.

xxxxFather David G. Howard , 35, is the son of Carolyn Howard of Dayton and the late Glen Howard. He holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus.
xxxxxFather Howard has a sister, Becky Messer of New Carlisle, Ohio. He also has a nephew and a niece. He will celebrate his first Mass at noon, Sunday, May 21, at St. Luke Church, Beavercreek.

xxxxxFather Patrick M. McMullen , 47, is the son of James and Margaret McMullen, both deceased, of Blanchester, Ohio. He holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Xavier University and an associate degree from Chatfield College in Brown County. Prior to entering the seminary, Father McMullen worked as a benefits coordinator at Federated Department Stores.
xxxxxFather McMullen has two brothers, Daniel of West Chester and Timothy of Lynchburg, Ohio; and a sister, Ann Beth McMullen of Blanchester. His first Mass was May 21 at St. Martin of Tours Church in Cheviot. A Mass in Blanchester at Holy Name Chapel of St. Columkille will be June 11.

xxxxxFather Linh N. Nguyen , 36, is the son of Phu Nguyen in Fairfield Township and the late Lt. Col. Thanh Nguyen. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Cincinnati.
xxxxx Father Nguyen has seven brothers: Thai Nguyen and Vy Nguyen of Fairfield Township; Khoa Nguyen and Hien Nguyen of Houston, Texas; Toan Nguyen and Ngan Nguyen in Vietnam, and the late Dung Nguyen.
xxxxx Father Nguyen's first Masses were May 21 with the local Vietnamese congregation at Our Lady of Lavang; May 28 at St. Julie Billiart, Hamilton, and June 18 at St. Bernard, Winton Place.

xxxxx Father Daniel J. Schmitmeyer , 39, is the son of Don and Doris Schmitmeyer of Anna, Ohio. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in agriculture and a master's in education degree from Ohio State University. Prior to entering the seminary, Father Schmitmeyer was an academic counselor at Ohio State.
xxxxx Father Schmitmeyer has two brothers; Rick of Minster, Ohio, and Doug of Houston, Ohio; three sisters, Linda of Houston, Ohio, Sue, of Anna, and Barb of Minster.
xxxxx Father Schmitmeyer's first Mass was May 21 at his childhood parish, Sacred Heart of Jesus, in McCartyville. It was not only a special homecoming, it was his grandmother's 90th birthday.
